Car Insurance for a 18 year old, Too expensive! Help?

Car Insurance for a 18 year old, Too expensive! Help?

Well, i jus recieved my full UK licence a month ago now, im glad I got it on first go.
But now I need a car.. Im not being stupid and going for cars with over a 1.4 engine..
And I'm only spending £1,500 - £2,500 on my first car.
These are the cars that are available in that price range:
2000 X REG VOLKSWAGEN GOLF 1.4i E HATCH 3DR
2004 FIAT PUNTO 1.2i SPIRITO HATCH 3DR
2003 VAUXHALL CORSA 1.3 TD SXI CDTI HATCH 5DR (DIESEL)
2005 FORD FIESTA 1.25i STUDIO HATCH 3DR
2002 VOLKSWAGEN POLO 1.4 SE TDI 75 3dr (DIESEL) Hatchback
2004 VOLKSWAGEN POLO 1.2 S 55 5dr [AC] Hatchback

I have received quotes for these cars, but all insurance rise above 2 grand!! I used CompareTheMarket and Confused.com
Those are very small cars, yet the insurance is VERY high?!
What should I do?
I want a car that is made after 2000 atleast, and I dont really like peugeot's?
Which insurance company gives the most discounts to new drivers, especially drivers as young as me.. at the age of 18?

Thanx for all your help but.. LOL.. All of those cars.. I insured them on my dads name and me as the second driver =/
So I was one step ahead but it aint a good thing :/ Lol

They will put you on a monthly payment plan and let you pay the insurance monthly. It will go down over time as long as you never miss a payment and don't have accidents or tickets. Not much you can do.
